The Saratoga Racetrack, America's oldest thoroughbred racetrack, is still
drawing record crowds to Saratoga Springs each summer. Its racing
season is from late July to early September. The track is home to such
elite races as the Travers Stakes, Saratoga Special and the Spa meet, which is
considered one of the most prestigious races in the nation with 45 stakes
races. The Saratoga Racetrack in New York is also known for its turf
racing and steeplechases. The track used to be garnered towards the

of Saratoga's mineral
springs. The track was also seen in the blockbuster movie

video lottery terminals. It was the first gaming facility to open in New

track, which opened in 1941. $15 million was poured into the renovation of the
harness track to provide a combination harness track and full-service
casino. Nicknamed the RACINO, the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway includes
restaurants, gift shops, valet services, live harness racing, high-end video
